The Polish edition of the international La Folle Journée Festival will take place in Teatr Wielki – the National Opera in Warsaw for the 8th time. This year’s theme is “La Danse” – music inspired by dance. In the course of three days, from 29 September to 1 October, the Festival will feature 55 concerts, involving nearly 1000 artists from all over the world.
The concerts that make up this year’s festival programme illustrate the profound impact of dance not only on classical music, but also on film scores, jazz and musicals. The varied repertoire of the concerts includes masterpieces of symphonic music, but also Latin, folk, oriental and experimental music composed over a span of nearly one thousand years.
Apart from well-known musicians, such as Alena Baeva or the Apollon Musagète Quartett, La Folle Journée also invites the best ensembles from music schools in Poland, providing young artists with an opportunity to perform in front of large audiences. Moreover, the Festival will feature dance workshops, educational meetings and special concerts for children.
Detailed program will be announced around mid August
Tickets priced at 12-17 zł will be available for sale from 1 September in the box office of Teatr Wielki – the National Opera, on-line at www.teatrwielki.pl and www.eventim.pl, at Eventim points of sale and in Empik stores. Admission to concerts held in the Festival tent is free.
