The Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra will play 17 concerts at six music festivals in Poland and France (18 July – 21 August 2015).

On Saturday, 18 July, Sinfonia Varsovia conducted by Maciej Tworek, the Choir of the Cracow Philharmonic and soloists: Anna Patrys, Anna Lubańska, Ondrej Saling and Adam Palka will perform in St. Catherine’s Church in Cracow. The programme will consist of two works by Polish composers – the Te Deums by Wojciech Kilar and Krzysztof Penderecki. The concert will conclude the 11th Polish Music Festival in Cracow.

Several days later Sinfonia Varsovia travels to France to the Radio France Montpellier Festival (20 – 25 July). Two of four concerts will be broadcast by Radio France Musique. Renowned French pianist François-Frédéric Guy will perform all of Beethoven’s Piano Concertos, conducting the Orchestra from the instrument.

The first half of August traditionally sees Sinfonia Varsovia perform at one of the largest piano festivals in the world – La Roque d’Anthéron International Piano Festival. This is a festival with which the Orchestra has had ties since its very first edition, held in 1981. During this year’s 35th edition, the Orchestra will accompany such eminent pianists as Jan Lisiecki, Nicholas Angelich and Rémi Geniet.

Sinfonia Varsovia’s last concert at the La Roque d’Anthéron Festival will take place on 12 August. The famous Russian pianist Nikolai Lugansky will perform both Piano Concertos by Fryderyk Chopin. The conductor will be Alexander Vedernikov.

The musicians will perform the same programme two more times – at the concert concluding the 66th Festival de Musique de Menton (France, 13 August) and at the concert inaugurating the 11th Chopin and His Europe International Music Festival on 15 August at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw. These three concerts tie in with the album CHOPIN The Piano Concertos, released in 2014 by Naïve and recorded by Lugansky, Vedernikov and Sinfonia Varsovia.

Sinfonia Varsovia’s summer of festivals will conclude with a concert conducted by Jerzy Maksymiuk at the 10th Mozartiana International Mozart Festival in Gdańsk (21 August). The concert programme will feature Sinfonia Varsovia’s soloists: Andrzej Krzyżanowski (flute) and Arkadiusz Krupa (oboe) performing works by Mozart and Salieri.
