The 5th edition of the programme is slowly drawing to an end. This is the time when world-class artists are arriving in Warsaw at the Orchestra’s invitation to work for a few days with members of the Sinfonia Varsovia Academy.
This year, these are Alex Gebert (cello), Jean-Marc Fessard (clarinet), Laurent Lefèvre (bassoon), Matthew McDonald (double bass) and Amihai Grosz (viola). All courses are open to the public – all you need to do is come to the Orchestra’s home in Warsaw’s Kamionek district and observe the work of famous artists. In addition, Jean-Marc Fessard will present his artistry during the Summer Concerts at Grochowska Street cycle. His concert will take place on 24 June at 4:00 p.m. in the Orchestra’s Rehearsal Hall at 272 Grochowska Street. Admission to all events is free.
At the same time we are recruiting for the next, sixth edition of the Sinfonia Varsovia Academy. This time we wish to invite musicians who play the violin, cello, bassoon or percussion. Two semesters of workshops in the form of individual classes and group sessions will be led by leaders and soloists of the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra: Anna Maria Staśkiewicz and Jakub Haufa (violin), Marcel Markowski and Piotr Mazurek (cello), Zbigniew Płużek (bassoon) and Piotr Kostrzewa (percussion).
To join the Academy you must comply with requirements set out in the Rules and pass auditions which will be held this year on 5 and 12 September 2017.
