Graduate of the Józef Elsner State Secondary Music School in Warsaw in the class of Professor Anna Wódka-Janikowska.
In 2000-2004 he has performed many times at the National Philharmonic, the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music and in the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio as soloist, member of chamber ensembles and concert master of the J. Elsner Music School Symphony Orchestra.
In 2004 he was a finalist of the National Violin Auditions in Warsaw.
In the same year, as a member of a string quartet, he represented Poland at the Malmö-Copenhagen Music Festival, during which he performed in Denmark and in Sweden.
Guz took part in many master classes, among others in Łańcut and in Warsaw (Professor Wolfgang Marschner, Professor Petru Munteanu, Professor Roland Baldini, Professor Monika Urbaniak).
In the fall of 2008 he played at the Warsaw Autumn contemporary music festival as concertmaster in the European Contemporary Music Workshop international orchestra in Warsaw, Milan and Pforzheim (Germany), performing Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Hymnen mit Orchester.
In June 2009 he graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the violin class of Professor Konstanty Andrzej Kulka.
Guz participated in many international violin competitions in Austria (semi-finalist in the Johannes Brahms Competition in 2003), Switzerland (Tibor Varga Competition, 2007) and in Łódź (semifinalist in the Karol Szymanowski Competition). In September 2009 he became a semi-finalist in the 4th Tadeusz Wroński International Violin Competition in Warsaw.
In 2007 he received a scholarship from Bank Societé Generale.
Piotr Guz has been a member of the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra since 2009 and its concert master since 2010. He has performed with the orchestra as soloist and in a chamber ensemble (Madrid, Warsaw).
Piotr Guz is a member of the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra since April 2012.
